DARLING HOW
Situated on Whinlatter pass, Darling How is a large Georgian farmhouse
with fantastic views of the Lakeland fells and hundreds of walks
and forest bike trails right from the front door. The house has been recently renovated to accommodate up to ten people and is an ideal place for large family
gatherings and celebrations.

Whinlatter is a great starting point for hundreds of walks, either
through the forest, up the fells or along the lakeshore paths of
Crummock Water, Buttermere and Loweswater. The visitor centre at
Whinlatter is a couple of miles away and has café, bike hire
and high ropes course (Go Ape), as well as a live video camera in
the Osprey nest (May-August). Keswick is just 15 minutes drive away
with its bustling town centre, boating on the lake and outdoor activities.

For groceries there is a Sainsbury’s in Cockermouth (10 mins)
or Booths in Keswick (15 mins). There are a couple of pubs in the
village of Braithwaite (5-10 mins) or for a special occasion there
is Winder Hall in Lorton (5-10 mins).
